2016 Goals - Really

Resolutions:

Do you set them?  Do you achieve them?

Me = probably not.

This year will be different.  I will set intentions.



Why do I fail, because I fail to plan.

Setting Intentions rather than Resolutions.

Setting Intentions. I like setting intentions for the year rather than goals as often goals are not being reached and then people use them to beat themselves up with by the end of the year. Intentions, on the other hand, are gentler and allow for fluidity and forgiveness. :) If you want to set goals instead of intentions, by all means go ahead! :)

What I've done is to complete an intentions envelope and is to be placed in my Journal.  I got a piece of paper 10" square, but it could be smaller.  I had in my head that it would fold down to 5" but its larger.

I folded each corner into the centre, creating an envelope with your "intentions" written on the inside. You can decorate the outside however you please.  I have used the new Charlotte Paper.  This paper is great as you can independently colour in the flowers.

Wow Its Nearly December

Some of my posts went astray.  In lieu of that I will honour the Fundamentals Package until 15th December 2015 with no deviations. CTMH Inks

Understanding different types of INK PADS

If you're like me, sometimes it's hard to know which Ink to use when! Here is an overview of the Ink Pads that CTMH carries and when best to use them!

CTMH Exclusive Inks™ stamppads: Our Exclusive Inks™ stamp pads, including our Black Exclusive Inks pads, are water-based dye inks. The dye ink absorbs directly into your paper and allows the colors to blend easily with the material. They dry quickly and blend easily. These inks are recommended for most stamping projects, but not for projects where you plan on using watercolors or coloring with alcohol markers after stamping the image.

CTMH Archival BlackExclusive Inks™ stamp pad: Our Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ stamp pad is our archival ink offering. This pad quickly sets an image that you can then color in using watercolor pencils, watercolors, or water-based inks with the blending pen.

CTMHExclusive Inks™ Mini Pigment Pad Sets: Pigment inks behave differently from dye inks, in that they settle on top of your material rather than soaking into it. This allows you to stamp lighter colors on darker materials and to keep the true color of the ink pad when stamping on another color. Though they take longer to dry, when dried, they work well for coloring in with your markers or watercolor inks, as the pigment inks will form a permanent bond and will resist blending when you color over them.

StazOn™ ink pad: StazOn™ is specifically formulated for stamping on non-porous materials. Because StazOn is solvent-based, this ink works well when stamping an image that you will later color over with watercolors, but it is not ideal for use with alcohol markers.

Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink pad: The Memento™ ink pad gives you another archival quality ink pad that works for any stamping project and can be used with alcohol markers, watercolors, or any of our other coloring options.

CTMH Archival Black Exclusive Ink Pads may be temporarily out but will be back in our inventory very soon.  Memento™ Tuxedo Black ink pads are a new (soon to come) addition to our line and we are very thrilled to offer these and all the others for the perfect stamping solution for all your stamping projects.

Hello, National Stamping Month!

As some of you may know, September is a very sentiment-al month here at Close To My Heart, and each year it really leaves an imprint on us. Why? Because September is National Stamping Month! And for a company that adores their stamps like we do, it’s basically a really big deal.

July 2015 Stamp of the Month

Hi Peeps,

Below is my version of the Stamp of the Month page layout.

Above page was completed by Justine at my workshop. This is an example of the Bokeh technique with June Stamp of the Month. 

I used it below as a ribbon strip. As you can see it looks very effective. 

Having some fun 

Below are 2 new washi tapes we have for you. As well as colour the tapes make great titles. As per the picture below some consultants are selling them just as titles. These washi tapes are only available until the end of August 2015 and I'm sure there will be a rush on them.

Seasonal Expressions 2

Afternoon ladies,

I have lagged in my posts. My life has been hectic, in a good and bad way. 

I went off to Paris for two weeks with my Mum. But prior to this I was diagnosed with early stages of breast cancer. Unrelated to my previous cancer. I will be having surgery on 22nd June with 6 weeks off work and 6 months for a full recovery. 

Plenty of time to scrap. So hold on tight ladies it may be a rocky ride. 

I have been playing and will have plenty of photos from Paris to scrap. 

A card I made for my great nephew's 10th birthday. 

-Used my ShinHan markers to colour in. 

-The background is a cut down Picture My Life card from Balloon Ride Z1948. 

- Kraft cardstock Z1325, 24 sheets $15

- Teal shimmer trim Z1918 $6.50

The Happy Birthday stamp is from D1653 $27:00, $3 from this goes to Operation Smile which supports children with cleft palettes. 

Made this for a girlfriend. She loves purple and flowers. 3 shades of purple were used here, Thistle, Gypsy and Smokey Plum. 

The above is me playing. I wanted to do a watercolour background. I then stamped over it with Smokey Plum S1645 Botanical Backgrounds $27:00. The second strip is stamped on to the card, embossed and then coloured with my markers, colours are on my play page. 

Happy Birthday B1419 was stamped on to DimensionalElements - Mixed Shapes $6:50 Z1683 - great if you don't have a cricut. They are white so you can add any colour you like. Purple shimmer trim Z1919 $6:50 was also added behind one strip. 

Fun new embellishments are in this Seasonal Expressions. The washi tape, Sequins and Enamel Shapes will only be available until the end of August 2015. 

Above is a Journaling Cards box Z1953 $8:00. Mine is shown with completed cards but it is also great storage for photos yet to be scrapped. 

I returned from my trip with a dead computer, lucky it's still under warranty.
